Alexandra is 5 years old and has special needs. She has a younger brother who also has special needs. Her parents are unemployed - her mother has a mental illness and her father only works occasionally in the village. The family lives with their grandmother because they don't have their own house. They bring in water from the well, which is a little distance from the house. The mother has to take care of the grandmother because she is elderly, ill, and has dementia. 

Everyone has special needs, except the father.
