Nichita lives with his mother, Tatiana, and his stepfather, Victor. His mother works in the fields; his father does not work because he has cancer. Both parents are alcoholics. They live in one room with six people. Nichita has two brothers, Victor and Octavian, and a sister Victoria. Nichita likes the color red  and dogs. He is in 5th grade. His favorite subject is sports. He likes to play football. The happiest day in his life is his birthday. The unhappiest days are when his mother cries to him. He dreams of flying to the moon. He wants to be a policeman. Nichita’s favorite food is fried potatoes. He had surgery on his kidney.
